Texarkana College is raising funds to help colleges affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The Harvey HELP Fund was created by education agencies and nonprofits in Texas.

Texarkana College has joined with them and has set a $5,000 goal by September 30. If the college reaches its goal, the Texarkana College Foundation Board will match it to reach $10,000.

TC is asking all students, organizations, and programs to participate in helping fellow college students.

Katie Andrus, director of the Texarkana College Foundation, is asking that organizations report to her with details of their plans.

Billy Brown, president of Student Government Association, said SGA is planning a car wash, balloon war, and/or a movie day.

Similarly, other organizations are brainstorming fundraisers to host.
