Student notice regarding HigherOne fee
Dear Student,
As you know, Higher One is committed to offering the One Account, a no monthly fee checking account specifically created for students. The information below provides you with information regarding a possible new fee and how you can prevent this fee from being charged to your account.
- The One Account continues to be offered as a choice to students with no monthly fee and no minimum balance. As announced in 2012, the One Account currently does have a monthly fee for non-students.
- A “student” One Account user is defined as having received a refund deposit to their One Account in the prior six months and/or have self-identified themselves as a “student” on the myTC card website and/or have a direct deposit of at least $100 in the prior 30 days.
- A reminder that students may update their enrollment status and profile (including address, phone and email information) at any time on the program website “User Profile” menu, based on the honor system.
- Beginning Sunday, February 3, 2013, One Account customers who have not self-identified as a “student,” or received a refund deposit to their account in the last six months, or have not experienced a direct deposit of $100 in the prior 30 days, will be assessed their first monthly service fee of $3.95 for the One Account.
As always, we are here to help support all students. The OneSupport and Customer Care teams are prepared to respond to and assist you with any questions. The One Account does not have a monthly fee for students; and that Higher One is available (please contact us) to help ensure your enrollment status is accurate. As this is the first time this fee is being assessed to non-students, we will be waiving the fee for any student customer that updates their enrollment status with Customer Care by end of day Friday February 8, 2013.
