Early Admissions

Save money and get ahead by earning college credit early through TC. Early Admission students complete Texarkana College courses on campus or online while still enrolled in high school. Our credits transfer seamlessly with universities throughout Texas and further to help you start strong for your college education.

See your high school counselor to pick up your sealed transcript/test scores (unless they are already on file with TC from dual credit). Meet with a TC Advisor for guidance in picking the best course options. For questions about advising, call 903-823-3012 or email advising@texarkanacollege.edu.

New students must complete a Dual Credit Application. Applications must be done at least 48 hours in advance of registering. Current or previous dual credit students do not need to do this.

Students under the age of 22 and taking a class on TC’s campus will not be allowed to register without proof of current bacterial meningitis vaccination. This may be mailed to the Office of Admissions, delivered in person to the Nelson Administration Building on campus, or emailed to admissions@texarkanacollege.edu. Explore more information on this requirement and review a waiver option from the bacterial meningitis vaccination.

Proof of Current Meningitis Vaccination

Early Admission students must be assessed in TSIA2 unless they have prior Dual Credit or Early Admission coursework meeting the course restriction. The test students will take is dependent on the course restriction they are registering for. Students can be exempt through ACT with a 23 composite and 19 on Math and English or through SAT with a score of 480 on Reading and Writing and/or 530 on Math. Students can take the TSIA2 assessment at TC’s Testing Center. EOC’s cannot be used for Early Admission. Previous dual credit coursework with same restrictions met with EOC’s can.

More about TSI Testing

Complete an Early Admission form and register for classes. If the student is under the age of 18, a parent signature is required. Be sure to bring the following items if we do not already have them on file:

  • Sealed transcript (new students only)
  • Test scores (ACT or SAT will be on your ISD transcript)
  • Proof of Meningitis (if taking classes on TC campus)
