Offering community tests, college entrance exams, and tests for Texarkana College classes, the Testing Center is our quiet place for you to prove yourself.

The Testing Center will be closed during spring break from Sunday, March 16 thru Saturday, March 22.

Monday thru Thursday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday – closed
Sunday 2-6

Located inside Academic Commons,  find us in building #3 on the campus map.  Parking is available across Tucker Street.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Texarkana College Testing Center is to provide a professional testing environment for our students and the community that supports the mission of our college by:

  • Providing a secure, quiet, clean, accommodating, and accessible atmosphere which enables test takers to perform to the best of their ability
  • Facilitating the testing needs of on-campus and distance-learning students
  • Providing a knowledgeable, courteous testing staff
  • Providing proctoring services for outside testing agencies and institutions
  • Making national and professional entrance, certification, and advanced-standing examinations available to the campus and the community
  • Assisting our students and community in meeting both their professional and educational goals

We are committed to maintaining professional testing standards and practices. The Texarkana College Testing Center adheres to the National College Testing Association’s Professional Standards and Guidelines (NCTA).

Testing Requirements

  • TC Students, in order to take a test you will need to bring your current Student ID badge.  How to request a Student ID (PDF) by mail.
  • Industry examinees will need to bring required identification specified by vendor.

Testing Room Policies

The following is a basic list of prohibited items that will not be allowed during any test. Other prohibited items will be added based on exam criteria provided by an instructor or industry listing.

  • Cellular phones, smart-phones/watches, beepers, walkie-talkies, PDAs, or wireless communication devices (e.g., IPhone, iPad)
  • Any device capable of recording audio, photographic, or video content, or capable of viewing or playing back such content
  • Listening devices such as radios, media players with headphones, or recorders
  • Dictionaries, books, pamphlets, or reference materials (unless it is on the instructors cover sheet that those items are permissible)
  • Food, beverages, or tobacco products are not allowed inside the testing area
  • Any weapons, firearms or other items prohibited by law or test center/ campus safety and security policies
  • No children in testing area. No children in the hallway unless supervised by an adult.
  • No appointments for TC Instructor required exams… first come, first served.
  • The Center is equipped with cameras and audio surveillance.

Academic Dishonesty Policy

from the Texarkana College & Student Handbook

Scholastic dishonesty, involving but not limited to cheating on a test, plagiarism, collusion, or falsification of records will make the student liable for disciplinary action after being investigated by the Dean of Students. Proven violations of this nature may result in the student being dropped from the class with an “F.”

This policy applies campus wide, including the TC Testing Center, as well as off-campus classroom or lab sites.

Testing Accommodations

  • Make a reservation for an accommodated test.
  • The Testing Center complies with requests from faculty members and the Office of Disabilities Services to assure that students receive required accommodations when testing.
  • Students receiving testing accommodations should schedule a time to test. Examples of accommodations include oral administration, extended time, and an isolated environment. It is the student’s responsibility to make necessary arrangements for accommodation with the instructor and to schedule a test in advance of the due date. It is advised that students call as soon as a test is assigned to assure that the test can be scheduled before the due date.
  • Testing accommodations office hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Arrangements for testing outside of normal office hours are available.
