TC Foundation Launches $90 for 90 Campaign in Honor of TC’s 90th Anniversary

This September marks the 90^th year since Texarkana College held its first classes at its original location on Pine Street. Since that day in 1927, hundreds of thousands of students have earned college credits, degrees or certificates from Texarkana College. In honor of TC’s 90 years of educating this community, the Texarkana College Foundation is conducting a $90 for 90 Campaign to raise scholarship funds for future generations of TC students.

“We’re asking anyone who loves and supports Texarkana College to consider donating $90 to this campaign—one dollar for each year TC has served this community,” said Katie Andrus, executive director of the TC Foundation.

Proceeds from the $90 for 90 Campaign will benefit the TC Presidential Scholarship fund established to reward top high school graduates in the College’s service area with up to two years of free tuition and fees at TC. The scholarship fund helps hard working students begin their higher education journey without the financial burden often associated with going to college. The $90 for 90 Campaign will help build the scholarship fund in hopes of permanently endowing it for generations to come. 

“There are many families that want their children to have the opportunity to earn a college education, but they aren’t sure whether they can afford it,” Andrus said. “This scholarship provides a path to higher education for students who are really willing to work hard and make the grade while in high school.”

Donors will be recognized at a community-wide 90^th birthday celebration at Texarkana College this September.

The Foundation is also asking TC alumni and supporters to share their stories about how TC has served them through the decades. Select stories will be displayed on the $90 for 90 Campaign landing page and featured on the TC Alumni & Friends Facebook page.
