Part-time Peer Tutor
The Part-Time Tutor provides academic tutoring to students.
Qualifications:
Must have completed a college-level course in the tutoring discipline with an A or B.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possess detail-oriented and highly organized skills
- Possess strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Ability to assess and provide guidance to students on the use of educational software
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needs
- Attends all tutor training and required meetings
- Completes tutoring reports
- Monitors student’s progress
- Guides students to use the educational software at the labs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Salary Range:
Commensurate with the Texarkana College pay scale for the position.
