Advertising Policy...

The TC News accepts legitimate advertising, reserving the right to reject or edit advertising copy that is libelous, promotes dishonesty, violates postal regulations or federal, state, or local laws; or encourages discrimination against any individaul or group. Any advertising determined to be in poor taste will not be accepted. The TC News does not guarantee positioning, but will honor position requests when possible.

TC News is a 6-column broadsheet; ad space is 21 inches in depth and 13 inches wide; a column is 2.062 inches in width; rates are $3.50 per column inch except for ads that run for 4 or more issues. Then the rate is $2.50 per column inch.

TC News, the campus newspaper of Texarkana College, is an award winning college paper in the state of Texas. The TC News was named Sweepstakes Winner in Division III, by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association in 1996 and 1998. Each year the TC News is recognized as one of the best college newspaper in Texas by winning several awards in Division III in the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association competition. TC staff members also have won individual awards in the in live state wide competition between Universities and Colleges.

TC News is published five times each semester and distributed free of charge to TC students and staff. Each issue consists of 3,000 copies.

The Texarkana College ratio of male to female students is 35 percent male to 65 percent female.

The break down in age of the student body is:

15.7 percent are between 17 and under
41.6 percent are between 18-21
11.3 percent are 22-24

As a group they buy clothing, shoes, gasoline, oil and eat at restaurants. They have credit cards, checking accounts and live and work in the Texarkana area.
