Online registration Procedures

Online Registration Procedures

The first step to register online is to create a unique Login ID and password. From the initial start-up page, first-time users should click the first link for “new users”. If you have previously utilized this system, but cannot remember your password, click the second link, “forgot password?”

Sign Up For New Account

Enter your TC ID number and your date of birth. This is the same data used to access your online transcript. Your TC ID can be found on your ID card or any TC transcript. It is not your social security number.

Next, choose a unique ID and password of your choice. The password you select must be at least 6 characters in length and contain at least one non-alphanumeric character (i.e., something other than A, B, 1, or 2).

Enter your e-mail address twice.

Select your own security question and answer.

Student Services

From the Student Services screen, click “register” next to the appropriate academic term.

Web Reg

The first screen tells if you are eligible to register online. If you feel you meet the requirements but are not cleared to register online, please contact the Office of Admissions at (903) 832-5565, ext. 3012. If web registration is currently in progress you may continue. Otherwise, please return during the appropriate time for registration.

Profile Page

The initial information on this page can only be corrected in the Office of Admissions. Beginning with “Mailing Address” information may be updated. The last two pieces of information must be updated at the time of registration. Regarding parking stickers, remember all students with vehicles must purchase new stickers in the fall. Once purchased, parking stickers are valid through August.

Class Picker

All currently open classes are listed in alphabetical order. To select a class, click “Add” next to the desired section. The last class added will appear directly above the class headings. Continue selecting classes until you have completed your desired schedule of classes.

NOTE: VCT and Concurrent Enrollment (CE) classes are not accessible through online registration. Registration for these classes must be completed in the Office of Admissions. If you are taking a combination of TC classes and VCT/CE classes, you may register for TC classes online and then come to the Office of Admissions to add your VCT/CE classes at a later date.

Several drop-down menus are available to assist you in the class selection process. “Department” allows you to search for classes within a specific course area, i.e., ENGL, MATH, etc. “Instructor” displays all sections taught by a specific instructor. “Days” lists classes that meet on specific days of the week. “Start Time/Internet” allows you to search for sections at specific times of the day. These menus can be used individually or collectively to assist in the class selection process.

During the class selection process, error messages may appear for several reasons:

  • Time Conflicts – This error message will display on the Trial Schedule page. Classes will be in red on the accompanying timeline. One of the two conflicting classes must be deleted before being allowed to proceed to “register”.
  • Lab – Many science classes require concurrent enrollment in a separate lab section. Lab sections will begin with the number ‘5’, i.e., ‘51’, ‘52’, etc. Lab errors will be highlighted in yellow on the Trial Schedule.
  • Session – Some science classes have an additional study session that is required. These sessions will be letters – AA, BB, etc.
  • Excessive Hours – This error message will display when a student attempts to register for more than 18 semester hours. Additional hours must be approved by the Director of Admissions and can be added later in the Office of Admissions.

NOTE: If at any point in the registration process you see the following message:

“Server Error in ‘/jasper’ Application”

Please hit “Refresh” on your browser. If the error message is still present, hit the “Back” button. If the problem remains, please notify the Office of Admissions at (903) 832-5565, ext. 3012.

Trial Schedule

At any time you can view your entire schedule by clicking “View Schedule/Register” in the upper-right hand corner. You may also click that same link when you have concluded the class selection process. If you wish to delete a previously selected course, click “Delete” next to the appropriate section on the “Trial Schedule” page.

Register

Once you have completed the selection of your desired classes you can click “Register” to complete the registration process. Once you click “Register” you will not be allowed to change classes online. All schedule changes must be completed in the Office of Admissions. If your schedule is complete, click “Register”.

Final Schedule

Once classes have been submitted, your Final Schedule – including tuition – will be available. Please use the print function on your browser to print this page.

Payment

Click “Payment Information” for instructions on completing the registration process. Remember: You are not officially registered until you have paid your tuition in the Business Office.
