The Rising Star Open benefits the Rising Star Scholarship.  This scholarship is a full tuition and fee scholarship for academic or vocational classes for the freshman and sophomore years. Applicants must be current high school graduates and have a family taxable income of $75,000 or less. Application deadline is August 1st following high school graduation. First year recipients must maintain full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.0. Rising Star students who complete their freshman year with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and full-time status are eligible for second year funding.

Rising Star Open Volunteers do not forget your sunscreen.  Bottled water will be located throughout the golf course.

Divot Patrol	Volunteers will fill divots with sand after each round of tournament play.
Leader board	The Adams Pro Golf Tour Series (APGTS) will provide two scoreboards.  Two volunteers per leader board per AM and PM shift will be needed.   This volunteer position will entail changing out the name cards and scores of the players.  Information about scores will be updated by radio to the volunteers from the scoring check points.
Spotter	Volunteers will be placed in positions on the golf course where the players may have difficulty seeing.  Volunteers will be placed in such areas as "out of bounds" and "hazards". This volunteer position will assist players spot wayward golf shots.
Scoring Check Point	One volunteer per assigned hole will be needed. Volunteers will collect the player’s scorecards, check the player's scores, and return the scorecards back to players. This volunteer position will communicate the player’s scores with the leader boards via radio.
Starter	Volunteers will be located at the tee areas for hole one and hole ten. These volunteers are the official starters. Volunteers will tee the players off according to tee times, and hand out player scorecards and rule sheets.
Scoring Tent	Volunteers will be located near the 18th green. Volunteers will assist the pros in tabulating player’s scores. Volunteers will get scorecards to the master scoreboard.
Standard Bearer	Volunteers will walk with the last five groups. Volunteers will post the pros score after completion of each hole.
Shuttle Driver	Volunteers will shuttle the golf pros from golf greens to tee boxes.
Pro Am Registration	Volunteers will assist the APGTS with the organization of player registration. Volunteers will collect unpaid entry fees, skins or mulligan money. Volunteers will hand out Pro Am gifts and help direct players.
Water & Ice
